Happy Birthday to Apple Transcription
Here at Apple Transcription we’re celebrating a landmark birthday – in April 2016 we reached double figures!
It’s hard to believe that it’s been ten years – they’ve flown by – we have a few more wrinkles and grey hairs to show for it but also a real sense of pride in what we’ve achieved.
We started in 2006 with just a small team of local transcribers and a willingness to do whatever was needed to get the job done. There were many occasions when the two of us would be transcribing and reviewing into the early hours to make sure that we never missed a deadline (and we never did!).
There have been many challenges and triumphs along the way – not least, in 2007, the honour of becoming a member of the Ministry of Justice’s small panel of authorised transcribers to the civil and family courts and, later, in 2012, being chosen to transcribe the 2,000-hour archive of Chatham House lectures (that one was certainly educational!).
Over the years, the small team of transcribers has grown and now includes members from Devon to Dundee and all places in between. We’re also now supported by our wonderful office staff, who all share our commitment to the very highest levels of client service – so there’s less need now for us to type through the night, which is a relief! For this alone, we’d like to say a very big thank you to our fantastic transcribers and especially to Helen, Hayley, Robert, Jacqui, Amy and Debbie.”
To mark the occasion we, our office staff and as many of our transcribers as we could gather together celebrated at a local restaurant where the highlight of the evening was the ceremonial arrival of the 10th anniversary cake (carried in by two strong waiters) – in the shape of a large green apple!
